This is undoubtedly one of the loveliest bays in the region. Following north from Orhaniye (Marti Marina) the journey takes about two hours by sailing boat at an average speed of five knots.
The bay offers excellent shelter, especially in summer, protected from almost any wind. While many boats prefer the southern direction during this time, I feel safer sheltered from the Karayel (northwest wind). You never know if a dağtepmesi (a strong wind that blows through the hills in the early mornings) might occur.
It doesn’t boast stunning green scenery but it does have amazing water colour and tranquility. You’ll love swimming there. The bay itself is like a pool and it’s lovely. You can chat with the fishermen and buy fish and other products they’re selling. My favourite is the “Bazlama” (a variety of bread) they bring in the mornings.
