A visit to the wine-making region of Beaujolais is a meditative activity. The landscape here, with the hills of Beaujolais, is so wonderful, so peaceful, that you can spend hours looking at those lovely vineyards and the shadows they create. Not to mention the vast number of vineyards you can visit. Just on the doorstep of Lyon, this area deserves a proper visit.
And yes, the wines… Well, much can be said, after all, this is a world-famous wine-producing region. Yet, I know my place, so I won’t speculate on this and that. But I strictly recommend you get to know producers or at least attend some tasting events. Amongst all Beaujolais Crus, Juliénas and Fleurie were the ones we ended up trying most.
