Yalikavak Patisserie, a beloved landmark, has sadly closed its doors. This post serves as a nostalgic reminder of its former glory and the charming days when Yalikavak was a quaint harbour. This patisserie stood out for its delicious, unpretentious desserts and holds a special place in my childhood.
It’s been over 25 years since my first visit to Yalikavak. Back then, it was a small village. I recall my father stopping by a nearby hardware shop. His car was parked right by the sea but you couldn’t see it unless you walked a few steps. So I often stayed in the car, perhaps thinking there wasn’t much to see.
One day, I decided to take a walk and after a few steps, I stumbled upon this patisserie serving its delicious desserts, cakes and ice cream. My favourites were the Pyramid Cake and the Mixed Fruit Cake. I also miss the milk-based desserts like Keşkül with a scoop of ice cream.
