Seefeld, Austria

Seefeld is one of Austria’s oldest ski areas and is best known for hosting the Nordic events at the 1964 and 1976 Winter Olympics.

When I visited in 1999, the resort felt a little dated, but it was still enjoyable. The hotels generally offered good value, and many had well-equipped wellness facilities.

Although it was late in the season, the snow was still adequate and the pistes were in good condition. I found the runs decent in both length and quality, with no real complaints about the ski area itself.

The village was not the most romantic alpine setting I have visited, but it did offer enough nightlife and entertainment to keep things lively.
