Hisaronu Peninsula, Aegean, Turkey

Gulf of Hisaronu is a great area, particularly for sailors to explore. It allows you to practice sailing while enjoying a playful breeze. In summer, you’ll feel a moderate breeze that comes from the northwest direction. This gives you the flexibility to combine sailing practice with the joy of summer leisure time.

Moreover, there are lots of wonderful small bays and inlets available for anchoring as well. Together with Göcek and Gökova, Hisaronu is one of the most popular sailing destinations in Turkey. To be honest, it’s probably my favourite among the three.  I really enjoy sailing here, especially around summer, though the perfect time is perhaps late September. The main reason I find the bay superior to Göcek is that it is more popular with sailing boats than the big mega yachts. This gives you a kind of more freedom and space while exploring the amazing coves of the region.
